A word about “healing.” I see it as part of the interconnectedness that occurs when facilitator (me), client and Higher Guidance/Love/ Spirit interact to bring healing forth. I’m finding that in many ways, the primary “modality” or “tool” is myself—my own energetic configuration/power/heart/spirit/connectedness. However, I’ll describe just a few of the common tools or protocols I use that have been developed by others.

BEAM:Bio-Emotional Access Method: This process involves the stimulation of 14 energy centers or chakras while bringing to mind certain key emotions that we have identified through energy checking (applied kinesiology.) In addition, we use tiny vials of water that have been programmed to vibrate at the frequency of certain emotions, foods, and toxins. They act like an opera singer who shatters a glass when she sings a note that amplifies the frequency of that glass—in this case, shattering the unprocessed “stuff” in that layer that is ready to be released. (Developed by J.K. Beattie, MD. See www.beamtherapy.org and www.caiet.org )

EFT: Emotional Freedom Technique: This involves various patterns of tapping on acupoints (where meridians surface on the skin/where acupuncturists would use needles) to release and rebalance the energy system. (Developed by Gary Craig. See www.eftuniverse.com or www.tapping.com and demonstrations on YouTube ) I work a little differently from what you see on the websites because it is my guidance that tells me which tapping patterns to use.

Meridian Acupoint Tuning Fork Technique: I use a Medivibe tuning fork that vibrates at the frequency of OM—the sacred Sanscrit word that contains the alpha and omega of that alphabet. That frequency is identified by NASA as the sound the earth makes as it rotates around the sun. This seems to be very powerful not only in releasing and rebalancing, but in entraining the client’s energy to a strong and healthy vibration. (See www.medivibesoundhealing.com ) And for a demonstration on You Tube watch Regina Murphy, who developed this protocol, where you can actually see the energies changing as a result of the therapy.

Reiki: I am a Reiki Master and this is one of several hands-on healing modalities I use. Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. In addition it brings a deeper sense of peace and spiritual connectedness. It was discovered in Japan by Makao Usui in the early 1900s. The word “Rei” means “universal,” or higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness. This is the wisdom that comes from God or Spirit, which is all-knowing. The word “Ki” means the same as Chi in Chinese, Prana in Sanskrit, Ti in Hawaiian and so forth. Ki is life energy—the vital force, the non-physical energy that animates all things. As long as something is alive, it has life energy circulating through it and surrounding it; when it dies, the life energy departs. So if your life energy is low, or if there is a restriction in its flow, you are more vulnerable to illness. (See www.reiki.org)

Breathwork: Knowledge that changing the rhythm and depth of your breath can change your consciousness derives from ancient spiritual traditions, especially yoga and Buddhist meditation. I use a few very gentle techniques to help bring about the release of troubling thoughts to replace them with more peaceful habits of mind and new perspectives. (I have received instruction from Bhavani Lorraine Nelson at Kripalu www.kripalu.org and Dr. Ann Marie Nielsen, www.SharingLovelight.com)

Pineal Activation The pineal gland is located in the center of our head and looks like a tiny pinecone. It is a regulator of the endocrine system, especially in the realm of sleep and circadian rhythms. In metaphysical terms, it is referred to as the Third Eye, and actually contains photoreceptors. It is our gateway into intuition, telepathy and communication with our higher selves and Spirit. It brings people into greater harmony with themselves and the universe, causing things to fall into place in their lives rather than requiring effortful intention and struggle. Physically, it helps relieve sleep and appetite problems and other aspects of the body that are out of balance. (I am certified as a Pineal Activator by Colleen Behan of The Spirit of Light Wellness Studio. www.thespiritoflight.org )

Energy Therapy is a relatively new development and at this time there is only limited published research in established scientific journals investigating these methods. Dr. Eyer does not diagnose or treat specific physical or emotional diseases or conditions and her work is not meant to take the place of traditional medical or psychological care.
